Come and sail in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park.
Join us for a Dragon Series event at Merthyr Tydfil Sailing Club on Pontsticill Reservoir.
We will hold the briefing no sooner than 11:00 and start the first race shortly after. Be sure to be unpacked, rigged and signed on on-site for the event before this time. We're planning to hold FIVE races in total, with a maximum of one discard.
All refreshments, tea and coffee for the day are included in the entrance fee of £16 per single hander or £20 per double hander (plus booking fee - that covers the club's banking charges). We suggesththat you bring a picnic lunch.
We are easy than ever to find now that the A465 dualling was completed a couple of years back, just two miles from the A465 trunk road. Click here to see a map.Local bed and breakfast accommodation is available, at the Parkwood Dol-y-Gaer Outdoor Pursuit centre (camping, glamping, bunkhouse and cottage), at the mountain railway station near the dam and at pubs and cottages in the village.

The courses to be sailed will be described within the supplementary sailing instructions and in detail at the pre-race briefing at 11:00 on Saturday. We use a combination of fixed and movable buoys to designate the course to be sailed.

The MTSC Supplementary Sailing instructions will be available from this link and at the registration desk on the day. These give additional information about the format of racing and our sailing area etc. Any changes to instructions will be posted on the noticeboard in the clubhouse and communicated at the briefing which will take place no earlier than 1100 on the day. The first race will take plase as soon as practical following the briefing.
